Prayer Points

Easy prayer points to start with, and Scriptures to pray.

“Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.”James 5:16 · World English Bible

Four easy points to pray today.

In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Lord, I pray four things today. Thank You for who You are. Forgive me where I fell short. Meet the needs of the people I love. Guide me in what I’m facing. In Jesus’ name, amen.

How to pray better.

I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. Luke 11:9-10

God, teach me to pray. Give me a hunger for it, a discipline for it, and honesty in it. Help me listen as much as I speak. Let prayer be something I want, not just something I do. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Pray what He has already said.

‘Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great and difficult things, which you don’t know.’ Jeremiah 33:3

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

Father, I pray Your own words back to You. You said You would never leave me, so I thank You for being here. You said to ask, so I’m asking. You said to trust You, so I’m trusting. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Four points for people you love.

I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. 1 Timothy 2:1-2

Lord, I pray for the people in my life. Keep them safe. Heal them where they hurt. Draw them close to You. Give me what I need to love them well. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Say what He says.

Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105

Lord, I speak Your word over my life: that I’m Yours, that I’m loved, and that You have a plan. Let what You say be louder than what I fear. In Jesus’ name, amen.

A simple order for the morning.

Lord, this morning: thank You, forgive me, help me, and guide me. For today, for my people, and for Your will. In Jesus’ name, amen.
