Meditate on the Word Day and Night

Joshua 1:8 and the promise in it.

This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. Joshua 1:8

How I love your law! It is my meditation all day. Psalm 119:97

Lord, teach me to meditate on Your word day and night. Not to rush through it, but to dwell on it. Let it shape my thoughts, my words, and my choices. Make me a person of the word. In Jesus’ name, amen.

One verse, a few minutes.

I will meditate on your precepts, and consider your ways. Psalm 119:15

Father, show me how to meditate on Your word. Help me read slowly, ask what it means, and pray it back to You. Let one verse stay with me all day. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The blessed person delights in His word.

Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand on the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in Yahweh’s law. On his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that produces its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:1-3

Lord, let my delight be in Your law, and let me meditate on it day and night. Make me like a tree planted by streams of water. Let what I read bear fruit. In Jesus’ name, amen.
