Prayers for My Family

The one to pray for everyone under your roof.

If it seems evil to you to serve Yahweh, choose today whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh. Joshua 24:15

Blessed is everyone who fears Yahweh, who walks in his ways. For you will eat the labor of your hands. You will be happy, and it will be well with you. Your wife will be as a fruitful vine, in the innermost parts of your house; your children like olive plants, around your table. Behold, thus is the man blessed who fears Yahweh. Psalm 128:1-4

Lord, I pray for my family. Bless every one of us. Protect us, heal what’s broken between us, and give us a love that lasts. Let our home be a place of peace. As for me and my house, we will serve You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

When things have drifted.

See how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity! Psalm 133:1

Father, bring us together. Where we’ve hurt each other, heal us. Teach us to listen, apologize, and forgive. Let our home be a place where everyone belongs. Make us one. In Jesus’ name, amen.

For every body in the house.

Lord, I ask for my family’s health. Heal those who are sick, and protect those who are well. Give each of us rest. Give wisdom to the doctors. Let us be grateful for every healthy day. In Jesus’ name, amen.

That the next generation will follow Him.

These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. Deuteronomy 6:6-7

God, let faith in You be the center of my family. Help me teach my children Your ways, talking about them at home and on the road. Let our home be where Your name is loved. In Jesus’ name, amen.

To pray together at night.

Lord, thank You for this day, and for this family. Forgive us where we fell short. Keep us safe tonight. Let us sleep in peace. Bless each one of us, and let us wake up ready to love again. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Before everyone leaves.

Lord, as my family starts the day, go with each of us. Protect us, guide us, and bring us home together. Thank You for these people. In Jesus’ name, amen.
