Prayers for My Daughter

The one to pray tonight.

I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. Psalm 139:14

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

Lord, I pray for my daughter. Let her know she is fearfully and wonderfully made. Protect her heart, her mind, and her steps. Give her wisdom beyond her years, and courage to be herself. Let her walk with You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

For what’s ahead.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Father, I pray for my daughter’s future. Show her what You’ve planned. Open the doors that should be opened. Give her good friends, good work, and a good heart. Let her trust You in every season. In Jesus’ name, amen.

When she’s out in the world.

Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. Psalm 121:7-8

Lord, I can’t be everywhere. You can. Protect my daughter. Guard her from harm, from bad people, and from voices that tell her she’s not enough. Bring her home safe. Be her shield. In Jesus’ name, amen.

When you don’t know what to say.

The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18

God, my daughter is hurting, and I feel helpless. Show me how to be there. Give her strength. Surround her with people who love her. Let her feel Your hand. Don’t let her give up. In Jesus’ name, amen.

When she’s grown, and you’re still praying.

Father, my daughter is grown now, and I give her to You again. Guide her choices. Bless her work, her relationships, and her faith. Let me love her without controlling her. In Jesus’ name, amen.

As she starts her day.

Lord, as my daughter starts her day, be with her. Give her peace, wisdom, and joy. Bring her home safe. Let her know she’s loved. In Jesus’ name, amen.
