Lord, as the night comes, I ask for Your protection. Guard my body from harm and my home from danger. Keep away accidents, sickness, and anyone who would do us wrong. You are my hiding place and my shield. I won’t be afraid of the terror by night, because You are awake and watching over me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you, and guard you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3

Almighty God, You who keep Your people never slumber or sleep. Tonight I ask for the protection of Jesus over my life: over my mind, my body, my marriage, my children, and my home. No weapon formed against us will prosper. Surround this house with Your presence like a wall of fire. I can rest, because You stand guard. In Jesus’ name, amen.

After you lock the doors and turn off the lights.

Father, I’ve locked the doors and turned off the lights. Now I put this house and everyone in it in Your hands. Watch over our sleep. Protect us from fire, from intruders, from sickness, and from fear. Let Your peace settle over every room. And when I wake, let me find everything and everyone just as safe as I left them. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Trusting Christ, not fear, with what you can’t see.

Lord Jesus, You have authority over every power of darkness. Tonight I place myself, my family, and my home under Your protection. Guard us from the evil one, from temptation, and from any fear that doesn’t come from You. Fill this house with Your light and Your peace. Where darkness tries to creep in, let it find You already here. In Your name, amen.

Praying Psalm 91 line by line.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1-2

For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91:11

Lord, I dwell in Your shelter tonight, and I rest in Your shadow. You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Cover me with Your feathers; under Your wings I am safe. I will not fear the terror of the night. Send Your angels to guard me in all my ways. In Jesus’ name, amen.

For the hours you can’t watch over anything. Often searched as “prayers for sleep and protection”.

Lord, while I sleep, I can’t protect anything: not my mind, not my body, not my home. That’s exactly when You keep watch. Guard me in the hours I’m unaware. Guard my dreams. Keep my breathing steady and my heart at rest. And wake me in the morning safe and sound. In Jesus’ name, amen.

When every creak sounds louder than it should.

Lord, I’m alone in the house tonight, and every creak sounds louder than it should. I’ve checked the doors. Now I’m trusting You with what I can’t check. Be my company and my guard. Calm my imagination. Let me fall asleep knowing You’re in every room of this house. In Jesus’ name, amen.

To send to someone tonight.

Good night! Praying God surrounds you and your home with His protection tonight. May His angels keep watch over you, His peace guard your heart, and His hand keep you safe until morning. Sleep well. Amen.

For the morning after.

Good morning, Lord. You kept us safe all night. The doors are still locked, the house is still standing, and I woke up breathing. Thank You. Now go with us into the day, and protect us out there just like You did in here. In Jesus’ name, amen.
