Evening Prayer

Lord, the sun is going down and the day is winding toward its end. Let my prayer rise to You like incense, and the lifting of my hands like the evening sacrifice. Thank You for the work You gave me today and the strength to do it. As the light fades, stay with me. The evening belongs to You, just like the morning did. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Lord, work is done, and I’m heading home. Help me leave the office at the office. Let me walk through my front door as someone my family is glad to see, not someone still stuck in today’s meetings. Calm me down on the way. Turn my attention from my job to the people I love. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Lord, our family is back under one roof this evening. Thank You for bringing everyone home. Bless our dinner and our conversations. Help us listen to each other’s day without rushing.
