Bible Verses About Answered Prayer

What God promises about prayer, and a short prayer to pray with each verse.

“‘Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great and difficult things, which you don’t know.’”Jeremiah 33:3 · World English Bible

God invites you to call, and He promises to answer, sometimes before you finish speaking.

‘Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great and difficult things, which you don’t know.’ Jeremiah 33:3

It will happen that, before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. Isaiah 65:24

Lord, You told me to call on You, so I’m calling. Thank You that You hear before I finish speaking. Thank You that I don’t have to earn Your attention. Show me what I can’t see yet. Answer in Your way and in Your time, and give me ears to recognize it. I believe You hear me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

When we pray in line with what God wants, we can pray with confidence.

This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him. 1 John 5:14-15

Yahweh is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear him. He also will hear their cry, and will save them. Psalm 145:18-19

Lord, I want to pray what You want, not just what I want. Align my heart with Yours. Where I’ve been asking for the wrong things, correct me. Where I’ve been asking rightly, give me the boldness to keep asking. Thank You that You are near to everyone who calls on You. I trust that You hear me, and that You are working. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Jesus told us to keep asking, keep seeking, and keep knocking.

Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8

Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them. Mark 11:24

Jesus, You told me to ask, so I’m asking. You told me to seek, so I’m seeking. You told me to knock, so I’m knocking. I won’t stop. Give me the faith to believe that You hear, and the patience to wait. Open the doors that need to open, and close the ones that should be closed. Thank You for a Father who loves to give good things. In Jesus’ name, amen.

People in the Bible prayed, waited, and were heard. So can you.

Lord, I love that You listen. I’m grateful for every time You’ve turned Your ear to me. Remind me of the prayers You’ve already answered, so I’ll trust You with the ones I’m still waiting on. I will call on You as long as I live. Thank You for hearing me, then and now. In Jesus’ name, amen.

For the waiting seasons, when you’ve prayed and nothing seems to move.

Before the day starts, bring Him what you’re still waiting on.

Lord, I start this morning by thanking You that You hear me. I’m bringing You what I’m still waiting on. I’m not asking for everything today, just that You would show me a sign that You are working. Help me notice answers when they come, even the small ones. Keep me from giving up, and from forgetting what You have already done. I trust You with this day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
