Prayers for Times of Trouble

When trouble has found you, and you don’t know what to do.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me. Psalm 50:15

Lord, trouble has found me, and I don’t know what to do. Be my refuge. You said to call on You in the day of trouble, so I’m calling. I don’t have answers, only need. Be near. Steady me, and show me the next step. Don’t let me face this alone. I trust that You are with me in it, and that You will bring me through. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Short, for when you’re tired and can’t find the words.

God, I’m in trouble, and I’m tired. Give me strength for today. Show me what I can do, and help me leave the rest with You. Don’t let fear make my decisions. Be my peace while I wait. In Jesus’ name, amen.

When it feels like you are surrounded by problems.

I will remember Yah’s deeds; for I will remember your wonders of old. I will also meditate on all your work, and consider your doings. Psalm 77:11-12

Lord, I’m surrounded by problems, and I can’t see past them. So I’m choosing to remember what You’ve done. You have been faithful before, and I believe You will be again. Lift my eyes off the trouble and onto You. Remind me of the times You carried me. I will think about Your works, and I will wait for You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

When you know there is nowhere else to go.

He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him. Psalm 91:15

Father, I come to You in my trouble because there is nowhere else to go. Hear me. Deliver me, in Your way and in Your time. Where I’ve caused this, forgive me. Where I haven’t, comfort me. Let me honor You in how I get through it. In Jesus’ name, amen.

For someone you love who is in the middle of it.

Lord, I’m praying for someone who is in a time of trouble. You know exactly what they are facing. Be their help. Give them wisdom, rest, and people who care. Where they can’t pray, I’ll pray for them. Hold them up. Let them feel that they are not alone. In Jesus’ name, amen.

When it’s all happening at once.

God, everything is going wrong at once, and I don’t have the strength to fix it. Come into the middle of it with me. Show me what matters most right now, and help me let the rest wait. Protect my heart from bitterness and my mind from panic. I’m still Yours, and You are still good. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Before the day begins, bring it to Him.

Lord, before the day begins, I’m bringing my troubles to You. I can’t carry them alone, and I don’t have to. Give me what I need for today, just today. Help me do the next right thing, and trust You with the rest. Be with me in every hard moment. In Jesus’ name, amen.
